Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognise your browser on return visits and remember certain information about your preferences or activity. Cookies do not contain personally identifying information on their own, though they may be used alongside other data.
This policy explains what cookies the Kairos Works website uses, why we use them, and how you can manage your preferences.
2. How We Use Cookies
We use cookies for two distinct purposes:
- Necessary cookies — these are required for the website to function correctly. They enable basic operations such as remembering your cookie consent choice so you are not prompted on every page visit. These cookies cannot be disabled without affecting how the site works.
- Analytics cookies — with your consent, we use analytics cookies to understand how visitors interact with our website. This helps us identify which pages are most useful and where improvements might be made. These cookies collect data in aggregate and do not identify individual visitors.
We do not use advertising, tracking, or social media cookies. No cookie data is sold or shared with third parties for commercial purposes.
3. Cookies We Use
The table below lists the specific cookies present on the Kairos Works website.
| Cookie Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
kw_cookie_consent |
Necessary | Stores your cookie consent preference so the consent banner does not reappear on subsequent visits. | 12 months |
kw_session |
Necessary | Maintains basic session state during your visit. Expires when you close your browser. | Session |
_ga |
Analytics | Set by Google Analytics. Distinguishes unique visitors using a randomly generated identifier. No personal data is stored. | 24 months |
_ga_* |
Analytics | Set by Google Analytics 4. Maintains session state for analytics measurement. | 24 months |
_gid |
Analytics | Set by Google Analytics. Distinguishes users across a 24-hour period. | 24 hours |
Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*, _gid) are placed only if you accept analytics cookies via the consent banner displayed on your first visit.
4. Third-Party Cookies
Where analytics cookies are consented to, cookie data is processed by Google Analytics under Google's data processing terms. Google Ireland Limited acts as the data processor for European and Malaysian users. Data collected through Google Analytics is anonymised before transmission and is not used to identify individuals.
Our website also embeds a Google Maps iframe on the contact page. Google may set cookies through this embed if you interact with the map. These are governed by Google's own Cookie Policy, which you can review at policies.google.com.
We have no control over cookies set by third-party embeds once you interact with them. No third-party advertiser cookies are present on this site.
5. Managing Your Preferences
You may adjust your cookie preferences at any time using the following options:
- Cookie consent banner — on your first visit to the Kairos Works website, a banner allows you to accept or decline analytics cookies. Your choice is saved for 12 months.
- Browser settings — most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings menu. Blocking all cookies may affect the functionality of this and other websites. Instructions for common browsers are available through each browser's help documentation.
- Google Analytics opt-out — you can prevent your data from being used by Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Withdrawing consent for analytics cookies does not affect any service you have requested from us, and your enquiries or intake records are not impacted by your cookie choices.
6. Consent and the Personal Data Protection Act 2010
Under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA), we are required to obtain your consent before placing non-essential cookies on your device. Necessary cookies do not require consent as they are required for the functioning of the website. Analytics cookies are placed only upon your express consent via the banner.
For questions about how personal data associated with cookie use is handled, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
7. Cookie Retention Periods
Cookie retention durations are listed in the table in Section 3. Session cookies expire automatically when you close your browser. Persistent cookies (such as the consent preference cookie and Google Analytics cookies) expire after the durations stated. You may clear cookies manually at any time through your browser settings.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the cookies we use or applicable regulations. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date at the top. If the nature of the cookies we use changes materially, we will request fresh consent where required.
