2. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting an enquiry, bringing a watch to our workshop, or using our website, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Please read them before engaging with our services.
You must be at least 18 years of age to engage our services. By accepting these terms, you confirm that you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.
3. Service Description
Kairos Works provides the following watch repair and maintenance services:
- Quartz Movement Service (RM 480) — battery replacement, movement inspection, seal and gasket assessment
- Bracelet and Strap Restoration (RM 650) — refinishing, pin replacement, clasp servicing, leather repair
- Water Resistance Testing and Sealing (RM 380) — calibrated pressure testing, gasket replacement, written service report
Services are available to customers in Malaysia. Kairos Works operates from George Town, Penang, and does not offer postal or courier-based service intake at this time.
4. Service Intake and Assessment
All watches received for service undergo an intake assessment before any work is carried out. An intake record is created at the time of drop-off, noting the condition of the watch and the agreed scope of service.
If the assessment identifies work beyond the agreed scope, you will be contacted before any additional work proceeds. Kairos Works will not carry out unannounced additional work or charge for services you have not agreed to.
5. Pricing and Payment
Prices for each service are stated in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and are inclusive of all costs within the standard service scope. Payment is due upon collection of the watch.
In the event that additional work is identified and agreed, any additional cost will be confirmed with you in advance. Accepted payment methods include cash and bank transfer. Details are available at the workshop.
Invoices and receipts are provided upon request.
6. Turnaround Times
Indicative turnaround times for each service are: Quartz Movement Service — 5 to 7 working days; Bracelet and Strap Restoration — 1 to 2 weeks; Water Resistance Testing and Sealing — 3 to 5 working days. These are estimates provided in good faith and may vary based on complexity or parts availability. We will inform you if a significant delay is anticipated.
7. Customer Responsibilities
You are responsible for providing accurate information about the watch at the time of intake. Kairos Works accepts no liability for issues arising from inaccurate or withheld information about the condition or history of a watch submitted for service.
Watches not collected within 60 days of notification of completion may be subject to storage arrangements at our discretion. We will make reasonable efforts to contact you before taking any such steps.
8. Intellectual Property
All website content — including text, layout, photography, and brand elements — is owned by or licensed to Kairos Works. You may not reproduce, copy, or distribute any content from this website without prior written permission.
9. Disclaimers
Watch repair outcomes depend on the condition of the timepiece at intake. Kairos Works makes no assurances about specific results and will communicate realistic expectations based on the assessment. Services are provided with reasonable care and skill, consistent with industry practice for the service type and scope agreed.
Kairos Works is not liable for pre-existing damage not disclosed at intake or conditions that become apparent only during the course of work.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable Malaysian law, Kairos Works' liability is limited to the cost of the service in question. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages arising from the use or failure of our services.
11. Cancellations and Refunds
If you wish to cancel a service after intake but before work has commenced, please notify us promptly. No charge will apply in such circumstances. If work has already commenced, you will be responsible for costs associated with the work carried out to the point of cancellation.
Refund requests relating to completed services are assessed on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us at [email protected] to raise a concern.
12. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute, we encourage you to contact us directly in the first instance at [email protected] or by phone. We will make reasonable efforts to resolve any issue informally. If informal resolution is not achieved, disputes will be subject to the laws of Malaysia and the jurisdiction of the courts of Penang.
13. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. The Malaysian Consumer Protection Act 1999 and related consumer protection legislation apply where relevant.
14. General Provisions
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision. These Terms represent the full agreement between Kairos Works and the Customer in respect of service engagement, and supersede any prior representations.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of our services or website after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
