What sets this workshop apart.
Watch repair is easy to promise and harder to do well. Here is what we do differently — and why it matters for your timepiece.
Back to HomeSix things we do well
Honest Assessment First
Every watch is examined before any work is proposed. You receive a clear account of findings before a single ringgit is committed.
Transparent Pricing
Service fees are clear and stated upfront. If additional work is identified during service, we discuss it with you before proceeding. No unexpected charges.
Careful, Purposeful Work
We avoid overservicing. The aim is always to extend the life of your timepiece through necessary work only — not to generate repair scope beyond what is warranted.
Written Service Records
Water resistance services include a written report as standard. A service log is maintained for every watch, giving you a clear maintenance history for future reference.
Calibrated Testing Equipment
Water resistance is assessed with calibrated pressure testing instruments — not estimated. Results are documented and reported, not guessed.
Local, Accessible, Consistent
Located on Persiaran Gurney in George Town, we are straightforward to visit. The same people work on your watch each time — no outsourcing, no handoffs.
Years of focused practice
The Kairos Works team brings over a decade of combined experience in quartz movement servicing, bracelet refinishing, and water resistance work. Focused service scope means deeper familiarity — we work on what we know well, and we know it thoroughly.
- Specialist knowledge in quartz movement systems
- Trained bracelet and leather strap refinishing
- Calibrated pressure testing methodology
- Familiarity with a wide range of watch brands and case types

In-house work, no outsourcing

- Watchmaker-grade hand tools for movement and case work
- Proper surface tools for bracelet finishing
- Written documentation for every tested service
Proper tools for proper work
Watch repair without appropriate instruments is guesswork. We use calibrated testing equipment and watchmaker-grade hand tools throughout our services. For water resistance work in particular, calibrated pressure testing is the difference between a meaningful result and an assumption.
Communication that respects your time
We aim to make every interaction straightforward. Assessment outcomes are communicated clearly, completion timeframes are given honestly, and any change in scope is discussed before it is acted upon. You are not chased; you are kept informed.
- Assessment communicated before any work begins
- Realistic, honest completion timeframes
- No unsolicited additional services
- Intake record provided at drop-off
- 1.Watch is received and intake record is created
- 2.Assessment is carried out and documented
- 3.Findings and service scope communicated to you
- 4.Work proceeds upon your awareness and agreement
- 5.Watch returned with service documentation
All prices include the standard service as described. Additional scope discussed before any change in cost.
Fair pricing, clearly explained
Service prices are fixed and clearly stated for each offering. There are no diagnostic fees added on top, no surprise charges after collection. If additional work is identified, you hear about it first — the choice to proceed is always yours.
A watch that works, and records to show it
The outcome of a service is not just a repaired watch — it is the knowledge of what was done and the confidence that comes with it. Written reports and service logs give you a factual basis for future decisions about your timepiece.
- Written report for water resistance services
- Service log maintained per watch
- Clear record of parts replaced
- Foundation for future service intervals
You collect a watch that has been assessed, serviced within agreed scope, and documented. If it was a water resistance service, you leave with a written pressure test report. If it was a movement service, you have a clear record of what was replaced and when. That documentation matters the next time the watch needs attention.
Kairos Works vs. typical watch repair
| Feature | Typical Providers | Kairos Works |
|---|---|---|
| Assessment before work begins | Not always | Every time |
| Fixed, stated pricing | Variable / unclear | Always clear |
| Written service report | Rare | Standard for water services |
| Calibrated pressure testing | Not always | Every water resistance service |
| Service log maintained per watch | Uncommon | Always |
| Approval required before additional work | Not always | Without exception |
Distinctive features of the Kairos Works approach
Written Report as Standard
Most workshops do not provide written documentation after a water resistance service. We do, routinely — because a test result only has value if it is recorded and communicated.
No Unsolicited Scope Expansion
We do not add services to your repair without discussion. The scope agreed at assessment is the scope of the work. Additions require your awareness first.
No Outsourcing
Every watch is handled in-house by the Kairos Works team. Your timepiece does not travel to a third-party workshop, which means you always know who is working on it.
Honest Turnaround Times
Completion estimates are given at intake and are realistic, not aspirational. We do not promise faster turnarounds than the work allows.
