A place where watches are taken seriously.

Kairos Works is a watch repair workshop in the heart of George Town. We work carefully, communicate clearly, and return every timepiece in better condition than we received it.

Back to Home

Built around the work, not around the sale.

Kairos Works opened on Persiaran Gurney in George Town with a straightforward intention: to offer watch repair that treats each timepiece as something worth caring for. The name draws from the Greek concept of kairos — the right or appointed moment — which felt appropriate for a trade where timing, precision, and patience are inseparable.

The workshop was established after years spent observing how common it is for watches to be returned unrepaired, misquoted, or serviced without proper explanation. We believed there was space for something quieter and more considered — a workshop that gives people honest information, fair pricing, and work that holds up over time.

Penang has always had a strong craft culture, and George Town in particular maintains an appreciation for work done well. Our location on Persiaran Gurney places us close to residents who share those values and want the same from their watch repairs.

We work primarily on quartz-movement watches, offering battery and movement servicing, bracelet and strap restoration, and water resistance testing and sealing. The scope is deliberate — we focus on what we do well rather than spreading our attention across every possible repair type.

To maintain watches carefully and honestly, returning each one to the person who values it in better shape than we received it — with a clear account of what was done and why.

  • Honesty — we tell you what we find before we act on it.
  • Restraint — we do not overservice a watch or inflate a repair scope.
  • Care — every watch is handled with the same deliberate attention, regardless of its value.
  • Clarity — service notes and reports are written in plain language, not technical deflection.

How we maintain quality

Calibrated Testing Equipment

Water resistance is assessed using calibrated pressure testing instruments. Results are documented and a written report is provided with every relevant service.

Assessment Before Action

Every watch undergoes a documented intake assessment. No work proceeds without your awareness of what has been identified and what it involves.

Service Record Keeping

A service log is maintained for each watch that passes through the workshop. This supports future assessments and gives you a clear history of work carried out.

Secure Handling & Storage

All watches in our care are stored securely within the workshop and handled only by the assigned technician. Access to stored pieces is appropriately restricted.

Clear Communication

We follow a straightforward communication protocol: you are informed of the assessment outcome, the scope of work proposed, and the expected completion timeframe before any service begins.

Data Privacy Compliance

Customer information is held in accordance with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010. Contact details are used only for service communication and are not shared with third parties.
