Repeated battery failure — root cause found
Challenge
A client had a quartz watch that had gone through three batteries in twelve months — each from a different repairer. No one had investigated why.
Solution
Full movement and seal assessment at intake. A degraded gasket was allowing minor moisture ingress, which was accelerating battery drain. Gaskets were replaced and the case resealed.
Outcome
Battery life returned to normal. The client reported no recurrence over the following five months. A service log was initiated to track future maintenance intervals.

Inherited watch bracelet — careful restoration
Challenge
A stainless steel bracelet on a watch received as an inheritance had significant surface scratches, a stiff clasp, and two links that had developed a slight wobble.
Solution
Assessment identified the scope accurately. Pins were replaced in the affected links, the clasp mechanism was serviced, and the brushed surfaces were refinished on the worst sections only — maintaining the original character.
Outcome
Bracelet returned wearable and structurally sound. Client noted the selective refinishing preserved the sense of the original piece, which mattered for a watch of personal significance.

Challenge
A client planning a diving trip wanted confidence in the water resistance rating of a watch used regularly in the sea. The watch had not been formally tested in over two years.
Solution
Pressure testing using calibrated equipment. Gaskets were found within tolerance but were replaced as a precaution given the planned use. Crown tube showed no abnormalities. Full written report produced.
Outcome
Watch passed testing at the stated rating. Client had documentation to reference. Follow-up testing booked for twelve months out at the time of collection.
